ANNOUNCING SCUMBAG STYLE’S FIRST EVER DESIGN CONTEST!

This is your chance to be a part of Scumbag history, provided you’re a visual artist that doesn’t suck all that bad. SBS has massive plans for good ass times in the coming months, and we need logos and t-shirt designs that don’t look like Michael J. Fox dicked around with Photoshop when he was really drunk. Smell me?

What we are looking for are good, quality, t-shirt ready designs that feature one of our many slogans and mascots. There are some design ideas we would like to see included as well, but you are the artist, and fresh ideas from fans are never unappreciated.

The three winners will be selected by fan votes, with prizes as follows:
1st Prize – $100, 1 Shirt with your design, Your design available on various merch in our shop
2nd Prize – 2 Shirts: 1 With your design, 1 with another winner of your choice (including yours, ego-boy), Your design available on various merch in our shop
3rd Prize – 1 item from the shop with your design (stickers, magnets, or a thong), Your design available on various merch in our shop

The contest will last from now until Friday, March 19. Voting will close a week later. If you had friends, we’d suggest you tell them, especially since reader votes are the only way to win.

Hey! You’re interested. Rock. First of all, the slogans we would like to see in the designs. These can be used in conjunction with any of the design ideas that follow.

All The Pap That’s Fit To Smear
A Very Comfortable Relationship With Your Mother
Hot Dog Baby Says “Epic Fail” (this one will only work with the hot dog baby design idea)
Go/Going To Towns (needs an explanation. the pluralization of “towns” makes “going to town that much more intense)
Your Favorite SBS Phrase (if you’re an avid reader, and have a favorite joke or phrase that will fit universally on a shirt, go to towns.)

Now, combine any of those things with your design idea, or some of the ideas we’ve provided that we’d love to see. Obviously, it should actually say Scumbag Style on it somewhere. We’ll probably throw the site address on the back, so keep the logo clean of “.com” and all that, unless it fits your motif.

Irish Pub Sign/Crest – You know, the old school wooden signs you see outside of Irish pubs, or that cool crest they’d put on pint glasses or the labels of badass micro-brews (I’m so white). “Est. 2009″ and all that, maybe throw the slogan on a flowing banner in front of the crest. Check out the example pictures I posted (don’t plagiarize!). For the centerpiece, feel free to use any combination of the following (deep breath): shamrock, beer mug/stein/glass,  Leprechaun, Leprechaun drowning in beer/(tastefully) getting a blowjob/giving the finger, Hot Dog Baby, Irish flag. Vary it however you like.
Hotdog Baby – Our resident mascot, an infant in a hot dog costume. Again we have posted examples. We’d love to see a fresh design of it, with cool ideas to change it up a bit. One idea is to put one of our kids in as the baby, and we posted a picture of him below for those handy with caricatures. Can work with all the slogans, not just the one attributed to him.

We’ll post each qualifying submission to a special page on the site as they arrive, close submission acceptance on March 19, and close voting on March 26.

BONUS CONTEST!
In the very near future, we will be having a cross-promotion with Vegas Nightlife, a club or two in town, and a local Vegas radio station. The details have not been ironed out as to specific dates and other affiliates, so we aren’t going to press just yet, but if you would like to be the first to be kept informed of the poster design contest, make sure to mention it in your email. The prize will be $20, and we were thinking something along the lines of a colorful, trippy ’60s rock poster. Though, as in the contest above, your original ideas are always welcome.
